The Streambox® ACT-L3™ Software Encoder is compatible with the entire Streambox platform for broadcast
and broadband, including our centralized video management and video play-out systems. It features robust
forward error correction, burst error protection, and packet rate shaping along with the following features
and benefits:
• User defined presets
• Supports bit rates from 64 Kbps to 8 Mbps
• Live and file-based capture and delivery of interlaced NTSC or PAL signal
Streambox® ACT-L3™ Codec
The ACT-L3™ Codec features an advanced proprietary video compression technology optimized for interlaced and progressive video. It is developed specifically for broadcast video and provides more efficient compression than MPEG and H.264. ACT-L3™ is highly adaptable to differing data rate requirements.
The robust family of ACT-L3™ Video Transport solutions features innovative error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies which enable users to manage, control, and mitigate packet loss and correct irregularities common to video delivery over packet-based networks.

The Streambox® ACT-L3™ Software Encoder enables broadcasters, government agencies, and enterprises to deliver high quality live and stored broadcast video over low data rate connections such as WiFi, WiMax, BGAN, and other IP-based networks.
The Streambox Software Encoder is deployed on standard off-the-shelf Mac OS® and Windows® platforms*). Performance and reliability over low data-rate networks are hallmarks of Streambox solutions making them ideal for a wide range of applications including mobile newsgathering, emergency response, and mobile command centers for the armed forces.
The ability to gather, edit, and transmit high quality live video, even from the most challenging locations, provides field reporters and other users with ultimate flexibility when reporting and delivering news and intelligence.
