Solution Overview
The Streambox® IFB Server and Client are compatible with the entire suite of Streambox platform solutions, from small form factor encoding clients and software, to management and play-out systems. The solution integrates seamlessly into the live newsgathering work flow between the field reporter or remote bureau, the studio, and the anchor.
Streambox® ACT-L3™ Codec
The ACT-L3™ codec features an advanced proprietary video compression technology optimized for interlaced video. It is developed specifically for broadcast video and provides more efficient compression than MPEG and H.264. ACT-L3™ is highly adaptable to differing data rate requirements.
The robust family of ACT-L3™ Video Transport solutions features innovative error correction and bandwidth shaping technologies which enable users to manage, control, and mitigate packet loss and correct irregularities common to video delivery over packet-based networks.
Reliable Audio Stream Management
When field reporters, remote bureaus, and SNG trucks capture and stream video to a broadcast center or studio via Streambox® Encoders, up to six simultaneous audio streams can be routed through the IFB Server to and from the anchor and reporter over the back-channel IP connection. The studio provides the IP address for the video destination as the reporter or remote bureau receives cues from the studio on one audio channel. Another channel is then used for live talk-back with the anchor.
