Eurotek helps city channel go online with Flipfactory automated encoding platform
City Channel has launched Ireland’s first hourly news updates online. The bulletins include both local and national stories. The reports are posted to the website directly after broadcast between 4pm and 10pm. The service is also available for local Galway news which broadcasts hourly from 6pm to 8pm. The redesigned website provides an opportunity for people to access local Dublin and Galway news stories from anywhere in the world. In the hours prior to the broadcasts, text news updates will appear on the site through an RSS feed.
Another feature new to the website is the availability of the weekly schedule with all last minute changes reflected as they happen. This is due to the employment of Telestream’s FlipFactory software, also used by the BBC, RTE, TG4, UTV and Channel 6. The software guarantees the site is regularly updated and keeps the content fresh and relevant.
City.ie is one of the many new additions to City Channel as well as new shows including movie show “The Reel Picture Show”, featuring reviews, interviews and weekly competitions. Another new addition to the schedule is “Skooter Girl”, taking a closer look and the club and music scene across the capital. The website will again be instrumental in promoting these shows before and during their time on air.
The software is also implemented at BBC NI , RTE, TG4, UTV and Channel 6
