RTÉ Upgrades Studios with Ross Technology in Dublin and Galway
RTÉ issued an EU tender for news automation production control systems for their two broadcast facilities in Dublin and Galway. Eurotek, a leading Irish broadcast dealer and SI proposed the Ross Vision and OverDrive system as an ideal solution for their requirements. The technology will provide more sophisticated productions with tight integration into their Avid i-News newsroom editorial system, offering reduced operator error and increased news coverage.

RTÉ Nuacht, located at TG4 in Galway, houses a Vision 4 and OverDrive for their Gaelic language news service, and went live on-air March 23, 2009. RTÉ SOCR in Dublin has installed a Vision 1 and OverDrive for producing short news bulletins and off-peak news programs. SOCR is expected to go live on-air May 1, 2009.
